About Mirin
Two meanings. One small restaurant.
Mirin is both an Asian cooking ingredient and a traditional Gaelic name: a fitting starting point for a restaurant that refuses a tidy label.
The idea
Asian flavours, the best ingredients we can get our hands on.
Mirin is an owner-operated restaurant, combining the best ingredients we can get our hands on with the Asian flavours we love.
The result is fun, laid back and deliberately inauthentic: part deranged junk food, part delicate cooking, with warm service, good music and low-intervention wine.
On the plate
Dumplings and noodles sit comfortably beside the unexpected.
The menu moves from broths and chilli crunch noodles to vegetables, fish, game, a kimchi-crust burger and dessert.
The dishes are made to share. We usually recommend two to three per person, depending on plate size.
In the room
Colour, music and a compact dining room in Leith.
Mirin sits at 9 Albert Place, close to Leith Walk. Its small scale shapes both the atmosphere and the practical details guests should know before booking.
The reservation page keeps age, dog and allergen information close to the booking action.
